MILLING
MECHANICAL FRESHING
The mechanical milling, obtained by means of milling inserts, is a processing for the removal of chip with which to obtain a wide range of surfaces by means of the rotary motion of a tool with several cuttings. The processing usually takes
place in more steps: from the grinding to the finishing. The grinding consists in quickly removing a large quantity of material as quickly and economically as possible. The finishing phase allows, by removing a smaller volume of metal, to obtain a product according to the design for dimensions, tolerances and roughness of the surfaces.
PRODUCTIVITY IN BREAKDOWN
The productivity in milling can be optimised in various ways. It is important to choose the right tool for the application, but the choice of cutting parameters
is equally critical.1. Sprinkling - High cutting
speed, vcIn the processing of aluminum you can use cutting speed greater than 1000 m/min, which determine a very high
table advance, vf.2. Peripheral milling - High cutting speed, vc,
and high advancement, fzIt is possible to increase the cutting speed beyond the normally recommended values. The advance will
be limited by the required surface finish.3. Profiling -
High spinning speed of the spindle, nThis method of milling is often referred to as High Speed working
and is typically used for profiling operations. Sprinkling with small
recording angle and high advancement, fzFlowering allows to greatly increase the sprinkling speed, fz, thanks to
the affection of trimming at High Speed and is typically used
for profiling operations.
